Penta is strengthening the leadership of Penta Fund. After an exceptionally successful start, experienced banker Tomáš Hochmeister will become the new CEO of Penta Fund as of December 1. He will replace Tomáš Kálal in top management, who will continue to cooperate with Penta Fund and the Penta Group in a non-executive role.
Penta launched Penta Fund — funds for qualified investors, including the Equity Fund and Real Estate Fund — symbolically in 2024, marking the 30th anniversary of the group’s founding. These investment funds offer investors a share in Penta’s successful projects, aiming to accelerate the growth of long-standing brands such as Dr.Max, Fortuna, Penta Hospitals, and Penta Real Estate, both in their current markets and in their expansion to new countries. The funds have already attracted extraordinary interest from more than 6,500 investors, who, in less than a year, have invested over half a billion euros together with Penta.
“I would like to thank Tomáš Kálal for the excellent work he did in launching Penta Fund, and I’m pleased that our cooperation will continue. Our goal is to achieve even greater regional expansion. That’s why I’m glad that the fund will now be led by experienced banker Tomáš Hochmeister, who will also contribute to the broader product establishment of our services in the Czech Republic and the region. As we announced at the founding of Penta Fund, the resources raised will be invested into the growth and development of our companies — as evidenced by several successful new acquisitions this year,” said Marián Slivovič, Penta Group partner responsible for banking, financial services, and media.
Tomáš Hochmeister (45) is an experienced professional with more than 18 years in banking. He joins Penta Fund from Komerční banka, where he most recently served as Executive Director and Head of Investment Banking. He spent twelve years at Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking in London and Paris, responsible for institutional and distribution business in the Central and Eastern Europe region. Tomáš graduated from Charles University in Prague, at the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, and completed postgraduate studies at Collège des Ingénieurs in Paris.
“It is a great honor for me to take over the leadership of Penta Fund. I look forward to working with a team that has already achieved excellent results, and I believe that together we can take Penta Group’s funds even further — by expanding their offering for retail clients, driving innovation, and entering new markets,” said Tomáš Hochmeister.
