Penta Investments Limited (Penta), the Central European investment group, has continued to ask Minister Alexander Szczyglo, the Chief of the BBN, to publicly deny fictitious information about the company which has been presented in the Polish media and which refers to him as the source.

In the form of a Public Appeal, Penta has published advertisements in the Polish media today, in which the company presents facts about its ownership structure, capital origin, and investment approach.

“Because the allegations from Minister Szczyglo have severely undermined our reputation in Poland, we are truly taking them seriously. We can not accept any harm caused by information which is from beginning to end untrue. Thus we have decided on a continual public appeal to Mr. Szczyglo to either clearly deny the spurious allegations, or to present undisputable facts proving his statements against us. However we are convinced that the second alternative does not exist,” Marek Dospiva, a Founding Partner of Penta, said.

On Wednesday August 12, Penta held a press conference and sent Mr. Szczyglo an open letter, in which the company declared all of the allegations untrue, presented NATO security clearance, and asked Mr. Szczyglo for a public reaction. Until today, Penta has received no response. During this particular press conference, the Charge d´affairs of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Poland, Mr. Jan Tomasek, stated that Penta has been enjoying support and trust from the Czech public authorities and he expressed disappointment in the false allegations being raised against the company in Poland.

Several Polish media sources, particularly Radio RMF FM, have been unfavorably describing Penta as a Russian fund allegedly connected to the Russian secret services. The media have used Alexander Szczyglo as their information source and have referred to him several times in this respect.

Penta strongly denies any accusations of having ever worked with so called “Russian capital” for its financial or any other operations, and publicly declares that it has never been connected to or cooperated with any Russian secret service organizations, nor the secret services organizations of any other country.
