Effective from the 1st of December 2010, Iain Child, currently a senior partner in Deloitte Central Europe, will become a new Partner of the Central European investment group Penta. Iain Child will thus enlarge the number of 5 current Partners (Marek Dospiva, Jaroslav Haščák, Martin Kúšik, Jozef Oravkin and Jozef Špirko).

Eduard Maták whose partnership was already announced in September, will become the 7th Partner from the 1st of January 2011. Iain Child is the first Partner, to join the group from outside the firm  having not worked for Penta before.

“I am very pleased that Iain has accepted our proposal to join us. He has been working closely with Penta over the last few years, providing us with both corporate finance and strategic advise. Iain’s broad and exceptional experience with doing business in CEE as well as his deep knowledge and understanding of the business environment in more developed western European markets will be a significant asset for us. Opening up the partnership structure is in line with Penta’s strategy of becoming one of the leading investment groups in the region,” Jaroslav Haščák, Managing Partner of Penta said.

“Joining the Penta team is an exciting career move and a new challenge for me. I have had the privilege of working with the Penta partners and team extensively in the recent past and have been extremely impressed with, not only what they have achieved to date but just as importantly their ambitions to drive the business forward. The current point in the business cycle provides significant opportunities for those who are structured soundly to take advantage of them. I am confident that Penta has such a platform and is able to exploit its strengths successfully and I believe that I can contribute to this future success,” Iain Child said.

Iain Child will be located in Bratislava and will be focused on financial services and banking sector investment opportunities in the region.
