Martin Kúšik, partner and co-founder of Penta Investments Group, has decided to end his active participation in the operations of the group. He remains a co-owner of Penta as a Limited Partner.

In the last two years, Martin Kúšik has been responsible for Penta’s expansion in Germany. His roles will be taken-over by Penta’s Partner Marek Dospiva and its new Investment Director Thomas von Werner.

“On behalf of all partners, I would like to thank Martin for his contribution and long-term support.  Our investment strategy and territorial reach remain unchanged. As we have announced several months ago, Penta will concentrate on larger transactions with a longer investment horizon, mostly in Poland, Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia,”said Jaroslav Haščák, Penta Investments’ Managing Partner.

“After almost twenty very dynamic and intense years, I have decided to enter a new phase in my life and change the balance between my working and private life. I see my participation in founding Penta as one of the best decisions in my life and I am grateful to have been part of the story of a company which started with five founders and is now among the biggest investment groups in the region,” said Martin Kúšik.

Martin Kúšik founded Penta together with Jaroslav Haščák, Marek Dospiva, Jozef Oravkin and Juraj Herko. He and Marek Dospiva started Penta’s Prague office in 2001 and built a strong investment team there. Martin Kúšik’s best known transaction was the SmVaK (water and sewage company in Ostrava), which ranks among the most successful projects of Penta. Starting in 2010 and following a redistribution of competencies among the partners, Martin focused on Penta’s expansion to the German market. In March 2013, Thomas von Werner was appointed the new Investment Director for Germany. He is currently building a new local investment team based in Munich.
